When I began working as a student advisor at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh in 2011, I hung a quote on my wall by the great Buddhist teacher Thich Nhat Hanh: “The most precious gift we can offer others is our presence.” Even though my student advising day have long passed, that quote continues to be a driving force in how I try to live each day.
In 2015 I moved to Seattle, and after working for the University of Washington for a time, I returned to my home state of Wisconsin to try something new and explore the private sector. I managed teams and mentored independent business owners seeking to make their dreams a reality before returning to the Pacific Northwest in 2019 to make my home in Portland and finally pursue my own dreams.
I’m excited to currently be working to complete my Master’s degree in Counseling Education with an emphasis in clinical mental health at Portland State University, and I’m so grateful for the opportunity to support clients here at the clinic. It’s my hope that with mindful presence and attention (even via email) I can help support clients seeking to better their lives and improve their mental health.
