Nicole Apted, MA, LPC

I believe we all want to be accepted and loved for who we are. Life experiences, stressors, and trauma can make that difficult at times. I want to help you find ways to overcome feeling stuck and help you move towards empowerment, authenticity, and resilience. I prioritize the therapeutic relationship in order to create a safe and accepting space for you to grow, process, and express yourself. We will utilize the strengths you already possess and build on those to help you continue to grow.

I work with people (w)holistically, looking at you as a whole person by incorporating an understanding of the mind-body connection in treatment. Trauma and other mental health struggles often present themselves in the body and can impact not only your mental and emotional well-being, but also your physical well-being. By examining how the mind and body connect and interact in relation to your life experiences you can gain a deeper understanding of how to manage life’s stressors and develop resilience. Through processing your trauma, you can develop a more adaptive perspective and move through life’s challenges with greater ease.

I work with individuals from a person-centered and relational approach to help with anxiety disorders, depression, low self-esteem, relational difficulties, life transitions/stressors, and trauma. I believe that people are resilient and possess the necessary skills and knowledge to become who they wish to be and create the life they want to lead. If we can have an understanding of where we came from and how that impacts us, we can learn to move forward and show up genuinely in our lives.  I also utilize Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which can be useful to work through more difficult and emotionally heightened experiences.

I hold a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from George Fox University and have had additional training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

I enjoy golfing, hiking, reading, trying new restaurants, concerts, and spending time with friends and family.

Nicole works with clients who are residents of the state of Oregon. Nicole’s rate is $160 per 50 minute session. We are not in network with any insurance companies, but we may be able to assist in providing a superbill for possible out-of-network reimbursement.
