Josh Wilson Portland Counseling and Anxiety Specialists Bio

Josh Wilson, MA

I provide emotionally-focused therapy for adult individuals, families, and couples. My experience, humor, patience, and insight will help you to identify new plot-lines in your story, reaffirm your sense of purpose, and strengthen bonds between you and your loved ones.

I believe my role as your therapist is to help you remove obstacles to growth and cultivate your strengths in order to realize the life that you hope to live.

What does that mean you can expect?

  • A strengths-based approach to help you develop a greater capacity to respond to life’s challenges with increased flexibility and resilience.

  • A warm, engaged presence where we’ll begin to address the hurdles you’re facing with compassion, insight, and humor.

  • For each client, I work hard to develop a unique method of collaborative therapy customized to fit your needs.

As a systemic therapist, I work to integrate my training from several therapeutic approaches, including Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT); Gottman Research Methods for couples; Internal Family Systems (IFS); and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).

I earned my MA in Couples and Family Therapy from Seattle University, and am a Marriage and Family Therapy Associate, licensed to treat clients in Oregon state under the supervision of Meagan Sheehy, LMFT, LPC.

I currently offer both in-person as well as online therapy, depending on your needs.

Josh works with clients who are residents of the state of Oregon.  Josh’s rate is $200 per 50 minute session. We are not in network with any insurance companies, but we can assist in providing a superbill for possible out-of-network reimbursement.
